Meet Chantal: "I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would have a home"

“My experience as a mother hasn't always been a typical experience considering I was an addict for 17 years and I wasn't going to be able to function as a mom unless I was a fight unless I got well. So being in there, realizing I don't want to do this anymore, starting off in a prison cell to a program room that I shared with my 13-year-old, to a tiny little apartment that I was able to get with the help of Hamilton Families, to a home… I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would have a home… a house. I've always lived in programs or institutions; this is amazing! I feel free! I feel like a weight lifted off my shoulders.”
