To help bring attention to the stories of the families in our programs, we partnered with San Francisco-based media maker BAVC Media, with support from Google.org, to produce three documentary short films, each on a family who has participated in one of our programs:
HOGAR
Maria and her 6 year old son, Emmanuel, recount their memories of being unhoused in San Francisco before being helped by Hamilton Families and what home means to them. In this bilingual animated children’s film, we hear Maria’s story, and the efforts she takes to support her son. Watch at hamiltonfamilies.org/hogar

After 15 years of bouncing from unsafe apartments to couches to shelters to the streets, parents Elizabeth and David write a letter to their children, describing their experience of homelessness while waiting for housing assistance, and expressing their deep belief that family can create home when there is no house.
