As we close another fiscal year, I am filled with gratitude for the extraordinary community that continues to stand beside families experiencing homelessness in our community. Every family who found the safety of shelter, every parent who secured stable housing, every child who had the opportunity to dream beyond the uncertainty of homelessness, and every milestone you'll read in this report was made possible because of partners like you. Have a look at the impact we had together in Quarter 4: April through June 2026.

Impact Testimonial

June 26, 2026

β€œI want you to know, from the bottom of my heart, that your work truly makes a difference…

… You welcomed us at Hamilton Families and from the very first day you treated us with kindness and respect.

Thank you for always being available. For asking us every day, β€˜Do you need anything? Just let me know.’ That gave me peace to feel that someone was looking out for us.

Thank you for the safety and for every, β€˜You can do it. Keep going,’ when I had no strength left. Thank you for taking care of my daughters with love and for making us feel that we mattered.

Today I can say that thanks to you, my family found peace.

Because of your support, I am leaving here with the desire to work hard to give my daughters a better future. You taught me that it is possible to start over.

You do your well. You change lives. My daughters’ lives and mine changed thanks to you.

I will never forget what you did for us.

May God bless you and give you strength to keep helping so many more families.”

Impact by the Numbers (April - June β€˜26)

🏠 338 families served

🏠 1,031 individuals served

🏠 551 children served

🏠 $660,709 housing subsidies distributed

🏠 46 new landlord partnerships

One Mission. Multiple Pathways Home.

Every family enters our system with different needs. Some require emergency shelter, while others need rental assistance or intensive case management. Together, these programs create a coordinated pathway out of homelessness.

Children Remain at the Center

More than half of the individuals served through several of our programs were children. Stable housing is one of the strongest predictors of long-term educational and health outcomes.

HF Children & Youth Services at HF Shelter and HF Transitional Housing teams finished the school year strong with afterschool programming and a special Mother’s Day celebration honoring the incredible moms in our community. In June, we kicked off full-day Summer Enrichment Programming, helping children continue learning, stay engaged, and create joyful summer memories while school is out.

34 Families Exited Our Programs to Stable Housing

Affordable housing remains one of the greatest barriers facing families in San Francisco. By expanding relationships with 46 new landlord partnerships, we increased the number of housing opportunities available for participating families. Additionally, we distributed $660,709 in housing subsidies to help families remain housed and build long-term financial stability.

Our Homelessness Prevention Assistance Program helped 19 families avoid the trauma of eviction through temporary financial assistance.

Community In Action

Our impact extends far beyond the walls of our programs because of the extraordinary community that stands beside us. From corporate volunteer teams to dedicated community partners, your generosity of time, expertise, and compassion is helping families not only overcome homelessness, but build lasting foundations for the future.

Mark your calendars! On Thursday, October 8, 2026, our community will come together at The Avalon San Francisco for the Hamilton Families Annual Benefitβ€”an inspiring evening dedicated to ending family homelessness and celebrating the families, supporters, and partners who make this work possible. Last year's event raised more than $800,000 to help families move from homelessness to stability, and we're excited to build on that momentum this year. Sponsorship opportunities are now available and offer a meaningful way to demonstrate your commitment to helping families stay housed, rooted, and thriving in San Francisco. We hope you'll join us as a sponsor and help make this our most impactful Benefit yet.
