Quarterly Report (July - September '26)
As we begin a new fiscal year, we are proud to introduce Hamilton Families’ 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, a bold roadmap that will guide the next chapter of our work to end family homelessness in San Francisco. Rooted in our unwavering commitment to children and families, this plan outlines three strategic priorities: deepening our impact through innovative, evidence-based approaches to breaking the cycle of poverty, strengthening our financial foundation, and investing in our people. Together, these priorities will position Hamilton Families to build on our legacy, navigate emerging challenges, and create lasting opportunities for the families we serve. As we look ahead, we invite you to join us in shaping a future where every child and family has the stability, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive in our city for good.

One Mission. Multiple Pathways Home.
Every family enters our system with different needs. Some require emergency shelter, while others need rental assistance or intensive case management. Together, these programs create a coordinated pathway out of homelessness.

Children Remain at the Center
More than half of the individuals served through several of our programs were children. Stable housing and wraparound services is one of the strongest predictors of long-term educational and health outcomes.

Children & Youth Services: A Summer of Exploration, Learning, and Growth
For children experiencing homelessness, summer should be a time of fun, discovery, and new experiences. This summer, Hamilton Families’ Out of School Time (HOST) Program provided 25 children with enriching, full-day summer camp programming designed to foster creativity, build confidence, and create lasting memories. From photography, cooking, and STEAM workshops (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), to hiking, swimming lessons, and weekly field trips, students enjoyed opportunities to explore new interests, develop essential skills, and simply have fun. Thanks to funding from the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families (DCYF) and additional community support, our team ensured that children had access to meaningful summer experiences while providing working parents with reliable childcare.
As summer came to a close, HOST celebrated with a special community gathering in the Panhandle before shifting its focus to the new school year. Through back-to-school celebrations, daily after-school programming, school transportation, and ongoing educational advocacy, our Children & Youth Services team continues to provide the stability, encouragement, and individualized support that children need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally regardless of their housing circumstances.
15 Families Successfully Exited Our Programs to Stable Housing
Affordable housing remains one of the greatest barriers facing families in San Francisco. By expanding relationships with 53 new landlord partnerships, we increased the number of housing opportunities available for participating families. Additionally, we distributed $646,367 in housing subsidies to help families remain housed and build long-term financial stability.
Our Homelessness Prevention Assistance Program helped 19 families avoid the trauma of eviction through temporary financial assistance.

Annual Benefit: A Historic Milestone!
We did it, thanks to YOU! On October 8, 2026, for the first time in Hamilton Families’ history, our Annual Benefit raised an extraordinary $1 million, a record-breaking achievement made possible by the generosity, compassion, and unwavering commitment of our incredible donor community. More than a fundraising milestone, this historic evening showed us what we can accomplish together, and the life-changing impact your support makes possible for children and families experiencing homelessness in San Francisco. Thank you!
